The best movie i've ever seen - Chicago Reviews

I absolutely loved this movie. Catherine Zeta-Jones just blew me away. She was so fabulous! I had no idea she could sing and dance. Renee Zellwegger was just marvelous too. Chicago is the best movie ever.

A lot of fun! - Chicago Reviews

The story isn't to important in a big musical film like this. But surprisingly this movie has quite a bit of it. The actors are all pretty good, but Definetely not worthy of an Oscar. The songs in this are great and the musical scenes are fantastic! The Jail House Tango and the scene where Gere is a ventriloquist are both great. I loved the part at the begining of Jail House Tango where the Six Merry Murderesses do the Pop, Six, Squish, Ah ah, Cicero, Lipshits thing. The costumes, set disigns and Score deserved Oscars, but not Oscars for Picture, Acting or direction. The Courtroom/tapdance scene is also great, as is the song Mr. Celophane. The only performance in this worthy of an Oscar is Richard Gere, who can play a singing lawyer very well. It surprised me how well all of these actors can sing. The songs in this alone make it worth seeing. ***1/2

Best movie of 2002! - Chicago Reviews

This was a simply wonderful movie! The best movie musical in a long time. Catherine Zeta-Jones was absolutely perfect as the villainous Velma Kelley (who won her well deserved Best Supporting Actress Oscar), and the other actors played their parts remarkably well. But the real treasure of the movie is in it's breathtaking musical numbers, where the extravagant dances and catchy tunes make the movie well worth seeing. The movie also fills in all of the holes in the story that the Broadway show had left open. The play focused on the music and dance more than anything, so there was much to be known about the characters and plot. I would recommend this movie in a second to anyone who loves musicals, and even some of my friends who don't like musicals enjoyed this movie. I feel it truly deserved Best Picture. Oh, and I can't stand people who compare this movie to "Moulin Rouge" (a good movie, but no "Chicago"). They are two completely different kinds of musicals and while they have some similarities, if you didn't like "Moulin Rouge", don't not see "Chicago" just because of that.

All that jazz - Chicago Reviews

What it lacks in substance, it makes up for in fun and sexy energy. The performances are vivacious and captivating. It's a fun, delightful movie. Herb

Shure did razzle dazzle - Chicago Reviews

This movie was exalent for movie goers like me who like to have fun at the movies. This movie shure was fun though you wouldn't expect it. Desite and Murder arn't exactally what you think of as comicly entertaining, but as soon as you sit down in the theater it drws you into a suspencefull thrill.Overall this was a good movie and I recomend Mulan Rouge if you agreen with me on this movie (although you might find it slightly more sad than Chicago).

The best musical! - Chicago Reviews

Roxie Hart (Ren?Zellweger) is having an affair with furniture salesmen Fred Casely (Dominic West) just because he says he has connections and can get her on stage. One night he tells Roxie its over and he only said he could get her on the stage just for the sex. So angry and hurt Roxie shoots him. Roxie is arrested and taken to jail where Mama Morton (Queen Latifah) says for money, she will help her out by calling Billy Flynn (Richard Gere) the best lawyer in the whole of Chicago. Roxie's loyal husband Amos Hart (John C. Reilly) pays the bill for the lawyer expenses. But Velma Kelly (Catherine Zeta-Jones) is also a client of Billys and her spotlight of "Sweetest Little Jazz Killer" has been stolen by Roxie, Velma is very jealous... This movie is one of my top ten of all time, I loved it. It had great music, humour, dancing and one of a kind acting. Richard Gere did a great job and I found his scenes the funniest. Ren?Zellweger I found to be a little dry in places but pulled it off and Catherine Zeta-Jones, what can I say? She was excellent. The music was delightful and I'm going to buy the soundtrack, The best songs where "All That Jazz" by Catherine Zeta-Jones and "Razzel-Dazzle Them" by Richard Gere. Not only was the music good but it fitting into this film perfectly and didn't spoil the story line. Although I didn't give this film a top score of 10 out of 10, due to the sex in it. I think it spoiled the film and the film could of been spared. I'm impressed though, they didn't swear to much. All in All, a must see. I plan to buy the DVD and treasure it. I love Jazz music! I love Chicago!

Stunning - Chicago Reviews

This was one of the best films made in a long time. The casting was superb, the choreography was fantastic and the cinematography was stunning. Hopefully this movie will bring a revival of musicals back to hollywood.

Cool - Chicago Reviews

The movie is great, I like the scene cuz the scenes are kind of nostalgic or the cast and crew succeed in bring the 70s or 60s feeling. The acting is excellent, Renee Zellweger is excellent and Catherine Zeta-Jones is good. But I dont really like the Zellweger's solo part, singing her husband, it's kind of boring.
